Description
Fireweed (Epilobium Angustifolium) is a wild flower that is often seen in the mountains above the alpine tree line. Fireweed grows on bleak landscapes, acid soils and it is even part of certain arctic ecosystems. The fireweed on this photo grows on Schynige Platte outside the apline botanical garden right above a cliff of several hundert meters.

Ah the desert flowering weed. Standing with vibrant colors to contrast the stark desert landscape. Heck, it could be just a mountainous area, but it feels like an arid region to me.

Thank you for your comment. There is no desert at all. Deep below the cliff, there is a lake. This photo was taken in the Jungfrau region in Switzerland. We are approximately 1700 meters above sealevel.
